Hi everyone
Looking into getting into reloading and found this on Craigslist.

2 boxes of Hornady .45 185 gr SWC-T #45137
2 boxes of Hornady .45 200 gr FMJ-CT #45157
2 boxes of Hornady .45 230 gr FMJ-RN #45177

He says there are 30 missing from 1 box(all are boxes of 100), but the other boxes are unopened, i'm assuming it's ok for 45 acp?
He's asking $80 for everything.
I looked at Powder Valley and this seems like a good deal.
What do you all think.

comes out to be about 30 cents a round. using ammoengine the cheapest hornady 45acp they have listed online is 66 cents/round. sounds like a good deal

Its a good deal if the bullets are of the type you want. The SWC's can be difficult to get them to feed in some .45's. Worst feeding ammo I ever bought was FMJSWC's target loads though they probably would have worked fine in a gun set up for them.

If he will ship via US mail flat rate box at $10 for shipping it would be a good deal. Much more than that for shipping and its not as attractive.

$80/570 = $0.14 which is a good average price for jacketed bullets. You'd be hard pressed to find six boxes of those particular bullets for less than $120 and would probably pay quite a bit more. I'd buy them without a second thought. The SWC bullets would work just fine in any of my SIG P220s or Blackhawks with the .45 ACP spare cylinder. They might even work in my 1911s.

No it's a horrible deal. PM me his contact information and I will make sure no one else gets taken in this.

Hey that's what i have, a Sig p220.
What do you mean by a .45 acp spare cylinder?
The seller actually lives here in s. Florida as do i.
I would go pick them up if he doesn't live too far from me.

Good choice on the SIG. One of my P220s has more than 15,000 rounds of 185gr LSWC bullets through it without a single problem so I very much doubt you'll have any issues with any of those bullets with your P220. I have a couple of Ruger Blackhawk revolvers that came with both .45 Colt and .45 ACP cylinders.

So it's even better than what you originally thought? : )
