Want to upgrade my front bead sight but said sight is not removable, at least not very easily. Are there any aftermarket hi visibility sights that will fit over that bead? Does anyone have any method of removing the bead sight?
Thoughts, suggestions?

The Express bead is pressed into the small pedestal base.

They often break off when you try to extract them, so you'll often need to drill the stub out.
Once you have the bead out, drill and tap and install any kind of front sight you want.

There are a number of hi-viz front sight available. One popular type are the various brands of "fire sights" that use fiber optics to make the sight glow brightly in the light.

Thanks but how do you know what size drill to use and what size to tap out to?

I must say that info on this topic is unfortunately stagnant. Is there anyone with more info on this subject that would like to share?

IF your Express has a vent rib, they make various glow worm sites that are either magnetic or clamp onto the rib

Hi-Viz offers fiber optic front sights in either the snap-on style, if you have a plain barrel, or magnetic style, if you have a ventilated rib. Sights come with replaceable tubes in red, or green. Bought mine for a plain barrel Mossberg from MidwayUSA. Believe it was less than $20......you don't need to remove the front sight with either style. If you have a plain barrel with the extended magazine tube, Hi-Viz makes the snap-on sight specifically for the Remington so it fits around the clamp. Hope that helps!!

XS offers tritium night sights that will simply epoxy on over your existing bead. Whether that is an adequate mounting solution or whether you should take further steps to secure the sight (soldering, etc.) is up for debate, but it's about as simple an upgrade as you'll find, and adds to the utility of the shotgun to boot.

Bottom right...

There seems to be only two standard drill and tap sizes used for shotgun beads here in America.

Simply pick the front bead you want and see what sizes the threads are. Buy a drill and tap in that size.
