New grip safety on an RIA M1911

What kind of grip safety does the standard RIA M1911 (not the tactical) take. I'm looking for a number like .220 or .240 etc. Also, will this be a drop in upgrade or will some 'smithing have to occur.
Thanks.

The numbers you list are frame tang radii, for frames (like the tactical) that already have the tangs radiused. I haven't measures the tangs on an RIA, but a Wilson semi drop-in for a Colt or Springfield (depending on tang length) may work. Otherwise you'll need a gunsmith to radius the tangs, touch up the finish there. If the Wilson (or other) semi drop-in will work, you'll still need to use a set of needle files to fit the engagement surface to the trigger bow. Hope that helps.

The Wilson drop in works well on my
.38 Super. There was a little fitting required,
but it took only about 10 minutes.
Esthetically pleasing as well.
