Illinois state representative LaShawn Ford will be holding a Town Hall meeting on the subject of concealed carry. On the recent vote on the Illinois carry bill HB148 he voted present. The bill fell 6 votes short of the number needed to pass. I'd encourage those interested in getting concealed carry in Illinois to attend, especially minorities and woman. Someone on the Illiinoiscarry.com forum suggested arguments for concealed carry be about the need for woman to protect themselves from rape and attack.

In Chicago it is ESSENTIAL to have heavy minority and women support. In Chicago everyone walking down the street is a target. They would be less likely to be a target if they were carrying.
