I'm just browsing the web tonight and wondering if there was ever any PKM's imported and registered (transferable) before the ban. It seems like it was bound to happen but I don't know. While were at it, are there any transferable RPD's or anything else similar.

I'm aware there are semi auto kit rebuilds around but i'm just curious if any full auto's are out there floating about. They are probably much above what I could afford but I'm still interested in knowing if they are even around.

Not sure about the PK, but I do know someone with a transferable RPD. The RPD was phased out in favor of the RPK, so all of them are the right age to be transferable, it's just a question of how many were imported before 86. The PK is also old enough (designed in the 60s), but there wasn't a lot of importation from the USSR at that time. :)

According to arfcom, there are two transferable PKs in the registry:

MG's imported after 1968 and before May 1986 would be "pre-May" dealer samples and thus not really transferable to the general public (they can be kept if a SOT dealer goes out of business, but have to be ultimately sold only to an active SOT dealer). For a foreign gun of this vintage to be transferable, it would have had to have been imported as a parts kit and built on an American-made receiver (including American remanufacture (rewelding) of a completely destroyed (scrapped) foreign receiver).

You're right - I meant imported before 68, which would have made them eligible for the amnesty.
