What do you carry?

I am particularly curious to see what everyone is carrying on a daily basis for CCW and why. And by that I mean:

Primary
quantity extra mags/speedloader

Backup?
Spare mags/speedloader?

Right now for me:
LC9 (IWB)
1 extra mag (belt) (wish I had a double)
Hornady XTP 124gr

LCP (Pocket)
2 extra mags (belt) (got a good deal on a two mag pouch for the LCP so I stuck another in, wish I would have just got the single)
Hornady Critcal Defense 90gr

I carry extra mags not so much for extra ammo, but functionality of the mags in case something went wrong. I've gone back and forth and also went along time without carrying an extra magazine for whatever I carry, but now I always try to have at least one with me. When it gets back to jacket wearing weather I'll go back to my Glock 23 as my primary.

I just started carrying the LCP in my pocket. It was an impulse buy (that I don't regret) and I basically carry it for a "why not". As you know because of the size I can practically carry even if I was just wearing underwear. I'll probably ditch carrying the extra LCP mags if I am carrying two firearms. Just experimenting with it for now.....

For the most part either a Colt Agent right in my front pocket or a SP101 .357 in a leather pancake. That's it. No extra ammo, no primary/BUG business for me....I don't want to be loaded down with "stuff".

I tote a G29 10mm in a Milt Sparks VMII and carry a 15rd. mag in a mag pocket built into the pants. In hot weather I have the exact same rig but with a G27 instead. In 10mm, I currently am using 180gr. XTP on top of 10gr. of 800X, new brass. In .40, I use the Ranger T 165gr. I have a G20, but that is mostly for the woods and the range.

I LOVE the 10mm. I love everything about it. It is accurate and powerful, it is the handloaders cartridge. It is so flexible in loading... In contrast, I don't load anything in .40 except light practice loads.

My wife, she carries a G17 2nd. gen. pistol in a Serpa holster installed in a computer bag/haversack/purse. Keeps it loaded with Ranger T 124gr. +P. She may end up going to 10mm too in the future, she likes the 200gr. loads at 1000fps. Says it has less brisant recoil than a 9mm.

Year round, I carry a Glock 17 loaded with Hornady 147 gr. XTPs in a black Galco CombatMaster (OWB) and a spare magazine of M882. (for 35 rounds total)

Usually have a small "tactical style" flashlight with me, too.

No backup.

Off topic, easyG-- Have you had a problem with your red paint coming off your SR9C? Mine came right off my LC9 the second time I shot it. Same with the front sight paint.... very disappointing.

Pyro....maybe I'm just ignorant....but what is that?
An old gun (+100 years) that took a long time to fix up.
I found an IWB holster that fits but needed to be modified, see the retention screw.
The sear broke so single action was impossible, so I bobbed the hammer and made it DAO.
Turned out to be a reliable shooter as long as you use Federal ammo (soft primers).
Somebody carried this thing years ago, now it's my turn.

Kel-Tec PF9. I sometimes carry a spare magazine, but it's usually replaced in the pouch by my patrol knife, which is worn on my weak side. I also frequently have a second gun on me, which is a Kel-Tec P32. It rides in a pocket. I do not carry a reload for it. The only time I carry the P-32 alone is on my way to and from work. I do not carry at work (EMS unit.)

Depending:

1. Warm weather, light clothes, and if my wife isn't carrying it: a Kimber Custom Compact in .45 ACP w/ one extra mag.
2. Most of the time: A S&W 325 TR in .45 ACP w/ two extra full moonclips. I love the reliability and versatility of revolvers.
3. Occasionally: A Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan in .454. I most often load it with .45 Colt and carry one extra speedloader.
4. When I go into the wilderness or anywhere where the bears are brown, I carry a S&W .500 4in. I carry 5-10 extra rounds on my belt.

I carry an S&W 9ve (sigma/ flame suit on!)
I carry it in a Galco stow n go IWB holster, that is actually for a Sig something-or-other, but fits perfectly. It's loaded with 11 rounds of 124gr. hornady critical defense ammo, with an extra mag in my weak side front pocket. I normally have a pocket knife, but mines at the bottom of lake St. Claire at the moment ...

I carry a Glock 36, MP9C, or an LCR. Winchester PDX1, Hornady Critical Defense, or whatever JHPs I have to hand. No spare mags.

Also pepper spray and a Spyderco folding knife at all times. Have you seen the size of the spiders here?

In the country I conceal carry a short barrel shotgun and bearspray when I want to make pictures of landscapes with my mil-spec Nikon D300. ;)

When I can conceal it I carry a Crimson Trace laser equipped Kimber Ultra Covert. No extra mag. The ammo is usually Aguila IQ.

When it's hot I pocket carry one of several guns, mostly depending on how deep my pockets are. A Kel Tec P3AT, Ruger LCP or Ruger LC9. I favor the LC9. Usually I carry a extra mag.
The ammo varies, like my handloads using Hornady XTP bullets or Speer Gold dot bullets. Sometimes Aguila IQ in the LC9.

I carry a Ruger SP101 just about everywhere, all the time. My usual "speed loader" is another Ruger SP101 or two, supplemented by Bianchi Speed Strips. I do not think of a second/third SP101 as a back-up weapon; it is an equal, though I reckon that the one riding at 0300 is more likely to be first among equals. My favored holster is the Milt Sparks PMK, with a Kramer Vertical Scabbard with a slight cross draw angle often used for a extra SP101 when I want that particular draw angle, though I wear it at appendix, not as a cross-draw.

One reason I rarely carry speed-loaders is because they tend to bind against the SP101's grips when using Magnum ammo, and it is about as easy to carry a whole extra revolver as a speed-loader. (Yes, I used to carry speed-loaders.)

Sometimes, I tote one of my personally-owned SIG P229 duty pistols concealed, or perhaps a larger sixgun such as an S&W Model 19.

Glock 22 with 2 spare mags + surefire flashlight

I find the Glock 22 small and light after years of carrying a 1911 or 4" 357 revolver before that.

The surefire flashlight is a tactical tool and not only to see in low light conditions.

Typically,

P2000SK (9MM) or HK 45c.

Two extra magazines.

On rare occasion my PD360 as backup.

Sometimes with a speed strip or two.

If I need a greater level of concealment,

PD360 only with two speed strips.

RIA Officer Size 1911, in a Don Hume slide holster. An extra mag only if I'm not driving, which is usually the case.

... now if only I can figure out some good reloaded ammo for this thing, so I can go shooting more. 8) I have *never* had a gun that required me to mess around with my reloading this much. Factory ammo is fine, it'll eat it all, but it *hates* my reloads.

Glock 19, spare g17 mag and I always keep an extra g17 mag or two in the truck (really not sure why, but I have 12 mags so why not!) and one more in my girlfriend's car.

I'm switching to a Ruger LCR for summer carry, although I'll likely not become familiar enough with it to trust my life with until winter. I'll keep a speedstrip on my belt, just foward of the 3-4 o'clock position where I'll carry the LCR. I've found that strong hand reloading works best for me. I'll probably keep a couple of speed loaders in my truck and a couple more in the girlfriend's car for zombies or whatever other reason I currently keep spare mags in there for.

I carry my Agency issued Glock 22 .40 cal 40+ hours a week so on MY OWN time I normally carry at a MINIMUM my Glock 27 in .40 cal loaded with Agency Federal Tactical Bonded duty ammo. I use a Glock factory +2 mag in the weapon & carry minimum one extra Glock factory +2 mag with me. I sometimes will carry a Glock 22 mag loaded with me for additional ammo capacity. I carry an ASP brand kubotan style key chain on my personal key ring that has OC spray inside it in case the need for a less then leathal force option in called for. I carry a pair of lightweight handcuffs or often just a small pair of Thumbcuffs to satisfy need for restraints. Agency issued credentials and shield in my tri fold wallet....good to go!
Extra body armour in "POLICE" marked carrier in my personal vehicle with raid jacket, EMS bag, few loaded Glock 22 mags, and rechargable high intensity flashlight are in my vehicle handy but out of sight.
I carry a Spyderco Police knife or a Benchmade Armed Forces Only Automatic knife clipped to my pocket at all times.
I either carry on my person or have readily available in my vehicle a Surefire 6P flashlight. I can carry everything with realative ease even in a T-shirt and carpenter style jeans or cargo style shorts. Winter time with sweatshirts and jackets it is even EASIER.
Off-duty holsters I use for Glock 27 are Galco fletch, Galco or Desantis pocket holsters, Galco King Tuck, Kramer horsehide IWB, Blackhawk serpa paddle, or ankle holsters from Galco or Uncl Mike's.
As far as open carry goes...me personally....I only want the bad guys to know that I am armed and ready at the time & circumstance of MY choosing....
I will sometimes substitute my Glock 27 with Colt Combat Commander, Glock 23, Glock 30, Browning Hi Power, or Government model. I will carry my Glock 22 also at times while off-duty.

Pyro,

When I was a young deputy sheriff a veteran Southwest peace office told me, all guns are dangerous but the man behind it makes them deadly. (smile)

I've been carrying one model or other of 1911 in 45 ACP for over 40 years. For about 5 years there it was a Glock 30, then I went back to the 1911's sweet, sweet trigger. In the heat of summer it is border carry with a spare mag in the off front pocket. When it's cool enough for a cover garment then it in a IWB holster. I've got at least half a dozen of them and they all get their turn eventually. Spare mag is in a weak side pouch when wearing a holster.
