I am looking at adding this to meager collection of edged weapons, any feed back would be great. Thanks.

If you're in the Navy now, you can get ESEE knives at military/police prices. Send them an email from your .mil address. I think you might like the ESSE-5 or -6 better.

Just a thought.

Thanks for the info but sadly I am no longer in, so I am mostly stuck shopping civilian sites.

I was at the AN store the other day, and they had a KaBar with a HUGE blade. It looked like the USMC KaBar with a blade MUCH bigger than standard. Maybe I should go back and buy it.

Check out Chestnut Ridge Knife Shop for good prices on Ka-Bars and a few other knives. I just got some ESEE and Ontario knives at decent prices with free shipping (over $300).

I'm looking at getting the ka-bar tac tool, if you like the "tanto" style check it out...

The Tanto blade is a shortened version of a sword designed primairly to chop and slice. That works great for a three foot balde but with a knife you need something designed to stab. I like the D2 Extreme.

Ok Tanto lovers, don't hate me here, but I can't stand the Tanto!

If you're looking at a kabar, try a few out. Based on what I've read, the ESEE would be my choice, but I have 4 kabars that I love.

Kabar 1211, 1212, heavy bowie, and kukri. They all have a place to fill.

I love tantos- but not the so-called American tanto.

I have the Ka-Bar in the original post. Paid a lot less for it, though.

I'm not a fan of tanto style knife blades either. Double if they have the single edge grind.

I like the Cold Steel line of knives. I just got my hands on one of the Carbon V SRK's just as I sold the newer model to a friend. I bought mine from a coworker who didn't like it because it has a "blemish" in the finish on the blade. I told him that finish wears off with use anyways and he freaked out. It's just some kind of Teflon...
