Oh, boy. I thought the G2 would be an improvement of the 24/7. All SA/DA pistols are supposed to stay on SA after racking it. I hope it'll be fixed. By the way, how does it shoot?
Welcome to THR.

I don't know if this helps, but from the owners manual on-line it says...
NOTICE: In reloading, the firing mode will remain in the same condition as before the magazine change.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for asking our advice.
Does your striker wind up forward (DA mode) even if you cycle the slide with the trigger fully forward (as in racking the slide for loading) AND with the trigger held back (as it is when the slide cycles during firing)?
If the second, but not the first, this suggests that your gun's problem might be related to the disconnector. If both, then the engagement of the single action sear might be inadequate.
In either case, I would be leery of firing this gun, because going full-auto seems possible. A trip back to the gun shop or to Taurus seems like it might be prudent.

That notice in the manual appears straightforward. If the gun is in the DA mode (hammer down), it should go back into the DA mode after racking the slide. If it is in SA mode (hammer cocked) when racked, the hammer should remain cocked. This is not the way most DA/SA autos work, but seems reasonable to me.

Yes, to get it single action when i am pulling the slide back i have to hold down the trigger and it will stay in single action unless i de-cock it...the single action is 100% improved over the gen 1 24/7's is actually like the single action of a 1911 but it takes a little more pressure the gun is actually a little bigger but comes with 3 different back-straps...im not a huge fan of the adjustable rear sights but no biggie
