Now that the Supreme Court has heard the case, do you think Missouri should allow concealed weapons?

59%
YES -- The constitutional argument is bogus, and the Legislature passed it

41%
NO -- Despite what lawmakers did, the constitution clearly bans them

I just read the missouri constitution regarding arms. That isn't even a stretch. Not justifying is not the same statement as prohibiting it.

We just had this argument in New Mexico. The NM Constitution says;

"Sec. 6. No law shall abridge the right of the citizen to keep and bear arms for security and defense, for lawful hunting and recreational use and for other lawful purposes, but nothing herein shall be held to permit the carrying of concealed weapons."

It was pointed out that the Legislature and already legally sanctioned concealed carry for police, and for private citizens on private property and in motor vehicles. And that if that was unconstitutional, the CCW for police was ALSO unconstitutional. It took the NMSSC less than 30 minutes to rule in favor of CCW.

Y'all notice at the bottom?
Polls are unscientific and for entertainment purposes only.

If it were swayed the "anti" way, it would be touted as "gospel":rolleyes:

Now I admit I vote in every one of these things, but do they actually make a difference?

We had a CCW poll here in MD recently and it came out 90% in favor.

Now I am an eternal optimost and very pro-CCW, but even I have to admit that 90% of Marylanders don't support CCW.

But I guess the point was made that some of us are VERY passionate about it.

Look at it this way. You are denying the "other side" ammunition. If the poll says most folks favor gun control (or no CCW, etc.) then the anti's have something to trumpet.

When "we" win, they can't use that. And many of the people who see the poll will know how much support "our" side has.

Vote when you can. If someone who's leaning on the fence or is generally against it sees a majority FOR CCW, they may move to our side or re-think their position.

The vote doesn't cost you anything.
