Not real familiar with the M-57 I know the ammo is expensive but I reload.

Looking at a 4" nickel no dash P&R as close to 100% as you can get no flame cutting almost looks unfired target grips a real sweet gun now the problem is he won't budge from $700.00 and nickel is not my favorite finish but I don't see many of these locally so that saves me $75.00 from buying online. so buy a 99%+ gun locally for $700 or look on line for a $625.00 gun. I think I know what I need to do. your opinions please and prices that you have seen these selling for.

According to the Blue Book a nickel Smith 57 is worth $825 in mint condition. If I were the seller I wouldn't budge either. He's asking a fair price.

Really that much? I find that surprising, but they are not that plentiful supply and demand I guess. A pretty good buy at $700.00 then!!

I don't really care for nickel but it doesn't get much better than a 4 inch M-57. one of the most versatile revolvers ever made. factory ammo is expensive but if you reload it can do anything that deserves to shot with a revolver

That's a fair price for a pristine 57 (blue or nickel). I see nice ones fetching more than that at gun shows.

I purchased a nickel 57 (8 3/8 90%+) a couple of weeks ago for $575.00 OTD and felt it was a bargain. $700.00 is probably not too bad if the gun is nice. Look what Smith is charging for their guns these days and it will scream "fair price".

Nickel-finished Model 57's are quite a bit more rare than the blued ones. If the guy is asking $700, buy it. Three weeks ago, I saw a blue 6" model at a gun show. It had the display case, tools, and paper work. Price - $1200. On Sunday he got $1200 for it.
