we started crop damage shooting last night and i popped 2 does with the 7mag using 140 nos e tips. One at 270 yards and one at 310. Both folded on the spot. Pretty good damage done without tearing the whole deer up. A bit less then what i would have expected with ballistic tips. Probably on the same scale as damage ive seen from partitions in the past. I dont know if it was just me or just the field i was in but ive never heard louder bullet slap on a hit then i did last night with that bullet.

here on the farm we have to leave them where they fell if killing them with a depredation permit. are you allowed to remove the carcass for human consumption?

no pictures. yes we can take them home to eat or give them away. As a matter of fact its illegal for us to leave them lay.

Yeah, I'm usually a stickler for being legal on everything I do hunting and shooting wise, but I would feel deeply wrong about letting a deer rot where it's at. What would they say if you quartered it right there?

How much damage do the e tips do to the meat? I've been kicking around trying a different bullet for hunting, although I've never had any issues with good old fashioned soft points. How would you compare the terminal ballistics of the e tip to soft points?

Did you get an exit hole and if so how big, also what was their approx. weight?

exit hole was about the size of a quarter. Good internal damage and no meat damage. Deer was hit right behind the shoulder broadside. Bullet was a 140 grain at about 3100 fps.
