i am considering buying one from a buddy of mine.... want to kow if it's worth the $50. it's in really good shape. no mag.

Definitely worth $50. I paid $99 for mine in pretty crappy shape outside but worked great with a red dot and it was worth every cent. Mines plenty accurate for plinking and shooting critters up to about 75 yards. Mags cost about $15 new.

Edit; dumb post, I thought you were talking about the Glenfield Model 60. My apologies. Though I'll still have to say that I have two Marlin rifles and both are very well built. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

The 25 is really a low-cost Marlin. I've had one for 30 years and it still shoots well despite decades of maltreatment and minimal maintenenace.
