I like the .32 H&R mag, and could go for a .327 in a longer barrel like 6" for target. My wife carries a .32 H&R mag in a 2" and I feel with the proper load this is a good PD gun for her, and she pracitices on a regular basis. Marlin carried it for a while in a lever action, and that would be nice. One has to reload for both as the ammo is limited.

Probably your best bet today for a 6" barreled revolver would be a Ruger GP 100 or a New Model Blackhawk chambered in 327 Federal Magnum. They handle the 32 H&R Magnum well as well as the 32 S&W and Long and of course the newer 327 Magnum. Once in a while you can find a S&W 32 Magnum on the market, but they bring collectors prices and rightly so, they are beautiful revolvers. Nearly every other manufacturer built small pocket revolvers in 32 Mag. And you can find a few Ruger SSM revolvers on the market from time to time. Take your time, search them out and have cash in your pocket, they don't stay on the market long.

The Ruger "Vaquerito" is pretty cool.

for personal defense. It is easy to shoot quickly for follow-up shots and for the elderly, women and people with Arthritis, it is an excellent choice.

I have a sp101 in .327. It's a great little revolver, well balanced and fun to shoot. One thing that surprised me a little is the blast and recoil of .327 mag, it's considerable and not a "ladies" round in my opinion. The .32 h&r round is more controlable and really fun to shoot in the sp.
