i have a ruger mark II 22/45 with adjustable sights, a friend and i were shooting it a while ago and i looked and the rear sight had moved in the dovetail. i tapped it back with a rubber mallet and continued firing and it moved over again. will locktite help keep it in place or would a shim be a better solution.

I'm interested in the answer to this problem. I also have a 22/45 and my gun does the same thing.

There should be a set screw on the top left side of the sight base, tightening that down some should keep the sight from moving. Loctite would provide some extra assurance that it won't move again.
If it's the drift adjustable only sight, Loctite should help. If not, try upsetting some material on the bottom of the sight to insure a tighter fit.

Greg
