The Forehand Company, successores to Forehand & Wadsworth, were in existance from 1890-1902. I'm guessing someone found a set of Hopkins & Allen (H&A) or, Harrington & Richardson (H&R) grips to replace the originals. Most of these guns were copies of S&W's collector interest is lean. And yes, prior to about 1909 should be considered blackpowder cartridges, or at least very mild. It may be a rimfire .32 as oppossed to centerfire.
