Colt 1903 Hammerless

So, in my search for a cripple-friendly ccw:rolleyes:, I have stumbled across the .32acp Colt 1903 Hammerless. Found one on gunbroker for $350, and have talked to seller. He lives in my state and would be willing to do a face to face.

The finish is rough, a lot of pitting. Perfect checkered wood grips. Manufactured in 1922 (checked SN). Apparently, it functions flawlessly.

So my question is, for $350 and a tank of gas, is this a worthwhile purchase?

Remember, this is for a carry piece, with possible restoration, but for nothing else than to pass on as an heirloom. And yes, I am dead set on this little piece of history.

$350 seems about right, considering the large amount of deep pitting.
Heck, the mags are worth at least $50 bucks a piece if they are real Colt mags and not after-market mags.
And probably triple that if they were the original two-tone mags.

If you want it to carry & shoot, the pitting isn't a deal breaker.

It would be if you plan on a complete restoration to factory new.

I just went and had a peek at it and it's in a lot better shape than I would have imagined from the price. You got a good deal there.

I wouldn't be afraid to carry one with the new loads available now. Slim, handy little gun.

I want one of those just because I want one.
