I am in the process of making "the list." After spending too much time looking at guns I don't actually want I decided I should complete the collection before I get more semi-useful toys. Again this is a long-term goal list so I'm not buying these guns tomorrow, it's what I want to save for and buy down the road when I can.
This thread concerns my desire for a Center-fire pistol. I have shot 9mm and am comfortable with it. I do like bigger calibers because well... I'm crazy like that but the .45ACP really depends on the package for me. I shot it out of a Glock once and shot that gun ONCE because it wasn't comfortable, then a year later I shot a Nighthawk 1911 and had quite a desire to take that gun home with me however I doubt the owner would have been very enthusiastic. So it's package dependent.
I like full-size guns that I can feel in my hand so please don't recommend something on the order of a subcompact Glock, compacts are ok and about perfect for me. Handguns are like knives to me where I like them made of heavier stuff so I feel them in my hand, the G23 is a nice gun but I swear every time I handle it I feel like I am going to break it like a water pistol. Also this might sound like a goofy requirement but I have to have a soft-action, if the action is really heavy to work then I can't run it on a bad day because of my MD.
My intention is that this will be a personal defense and a carry gun if I ever get a CPL. I already have a 22 pistol for fun shooting. I doubt I will be adding anything onto it besides more ammunition, not lights, lasers, cup holders or toasters.
What the heck is out there?
