Does anyone use 110 round nose carbine bullets in AR10 successfully? I've reloaded the ballistic tip, spire, etc. all very pointed for good ballistics but want to shoot the round nose, which are very cheap. Do the RN work?

Don't own an AR10 but I shoot them in a 308 Remington 7400 without any issues. You might have to tinker with the load to get it to cycle well but mine always fed well without any issues. Also these 110 bullets were designed for lower velocities and might be a problem if used for hunting. I found some loads in an older Lyman manual that did work.

My Armalite AR10 runs great with everything between 150 gr up to 180 gr. Shoots RN soft points just fine. Anything below 150 it will not cycle properly. The buffer spring is to stiff for lighter loads.

I suspect they would cause feeding problems due to the short bullet and those bullets are for .30 carbine velocity's and therefore the jackets may seperate at .308 velocity's. The powder you would need to get good velocity from the light bullets would not be optimal for the ar10 gas system either. You could load them light and shoot them single shot though.
