What do you think are more versatile on an 870 Police w/18"bb, ghost ring or rifle sights?

I find that ghost ring sights are quicker to aquire and get on target with and personnaly, I'm more accurate with them also. I have them on my Benelli and would put them on any similar style/use shotgun if I were to buy another.

If I can't have beads ( my preference) , I'd go with rifled.
I focus on targets - not sights, not the gun...I focus on targets.
"Less is more" in deciding for ME.
And yes I mean with slugs, prefer slugs for a lot of places folks like buck...I can shoot shoot moving targets very well with slugs using only beads.

Any of the systems will work. Pick the one that seems best and work with it.

I agree with Dave.
Personally, I prefer a single bead on any shotgun I use for any use. I guess I am just used to it. I have tried other sighting options, but am much faster with a bead.

COunt me in the rifle sight bunch.
Ghost rings are fine, I just haven't used them enough. Still prefer what is familier. Don't see enough advantage to change.

Blain, just a quick question, wouldn't it be easier to do a reload on your shotgun if the shells in the side saddle were positioned with the brass down?

No.

Yes, it would, especially for left handed people. base up is only really convenient for loading into the ejection port.

I'm just thinking that if you are right handed then you would remove the left (forehand) off the pump handle to the side saddle, and then it would be easier (and faster) to pull the shell straight down and insert it into the magazine, rather than reaching over, around and then into the magazine. Care to elaborate on your position?

I like ghost rings since I started on them. (The vent ribbed barrel doesn't count)

Military rifles use ghost ring sights. Must be something to it:)
