Say I!

Is anybody aware of any plans to bring this gun out in this great caliber? :D

I don't think we'll see it happen. How many established 1911 makers chamber this cartridge? Not many. The 10mm cult I doubtt is large enough to substantiate a full run production. Besides they'd need to make all sizes to please everyone and finacially I don't see them going that far. I am surprised that one of the larger distributors hasn't contracted a exclusive run from someone. maybe if all you 10mm shooters got together you could get some wheels rolling going that route. Worth a try at least.

That would be a good thing.

Albeit, I read a thread over at 1911 board that Dan Wesson is bringing out a 1911 Long slide in MM - Patriot Global hunter - series 70 gun.

If true, that will be my next purchase.

Chambering doesn't matter at this point, as the GSR has too many fugly factors to bear consideration.

Slide profile :barf:
Grip safety :barf:
Slide mounted integral lock :barf:
Light rail :barf:

It would be nice, but as a 10mm fan we are in near "hog heaven".

Lets see right now (non-exclusive list coming) we 10mm fans can buy new:
Witness 10mm
Witness compact 10mm
Witness hunter 10mm
Witness silver team 10mm
S&W 610
DW Razerback 10mm
DW PM7s (I believe that is the correct number) in 10mm
DW soon to be longslide 10mm (anytime from the posts)
Kimber 10mm
Glock 29
Glock 20
Glock 20c
Les Baer 10mm in almost any type

I am sure I missed a bunch but that is all I can think of this minute.

The SIG would be nice, but what I would really like is a CZ 97B in 10mm!

^^^

Also, don't forget the DW CCO sized 1911 in 10mm due out in the next couple of months.

Don't forget dreams of the Sig 220 in 10mm ;)

I don't mind the light rail so much. The grip safety can be changed and the integral lock will be optional from what I've read at 1911forum.org.

If they loose the light rail and chamber it in 10mm, I'm in the market for one.

I'd love a GSR in 10mm, without the rail.

But only if they put it on The List for PRK, because then it's just like the Dan Wesson and Kimber offerings - verboten. :(

What's the point? a GSR is as much a sig as an XD is a springfield.

With respect that is only 4 gun variations. You can have a Witness clone, a DA revolver, a 1911 or a Glock. I want a GSR I am on the waiting list. I love the slide profile except I wish it had forward serrations. I also love the rail. Thats the only reason I want to retire my Kimber series 1. I want the rail.

The only things I don't like about the GSR are the trigger (which could be easily changed) and the lock on the slide.

If it came in 10mm it would be very tempting.

Anyone know about that lock? What exactly does it do? Can it be removed/completely disabled?

The SIG GSR in .45 is a "want-to-buy", a GSR in 10mm becomes a "have-to-buy". :D Is anybody at SIG listening?
