The largest I will carry concealed is a kahr cw9. Open in the woods might be a 357 or 44 mag.

September 8, 2011, 05:24 PM
I usually carry a gen 3 Colt Detective IWB...but often carry a Sig P6 IWB in the winter time. I have on occasion carried a beautiful Colt Combat Commander OWB, but I prefer to keep it at home in the gun safe.

1911, I have a Raptor that is my BBQ gun. Mostly my Model 96 Beretta, it technically is larger than the 1911 due to grip size, I have carried my 4" N frames (29 or 25-5) with a coat or jacket... I carry the Beretta all the time, it has a LOT of miles on it.. Just can't get away from the double action thing..

September 8, 2011, 08:13 PM
Ruger Redhawk 7 1/2" does well under a light jacket with a shoulder rig.

September 8, 2011, 10:20 PM
S&W M686 4" .357 magnum.

September 8, 2011, 10:25 PM
Glock 21

September 8, 2011, 10:29 PM
The largets that actually gets carried on a regular basis?

XD45c - it is no particular effort to conceal it in a CrossBreed holster hanging from a BeltMan belt under an untucked button-up shirt with slacks or cargo pants.

To go much bigger would involve effort or dressing around the gun more.

September 8, 2011, 10:35 PM
Glock 19 usually, but I have a buddy that swears by his full size XDM 9mm carried in his Small of Back. i thought it would have been a little thick framed for a CCW but he wears it just fine. You have to remember that different body types can hide different guns so this would really be more specific to the shooters body composition and clothing selection more than anything else.

Most people who have carried for awhile like the skinnier 1911 frames because they fit more snug to the body making it much easier to conceal with a greater range of wardrobe.

September 8, 2011, 10:36 PM
Probably the 4" 629 I'm carrying IWB here:

September 8, 2011, 11:54 PM
Used to carry a Colt SAA 5.5", vertical shoulder holster. Only handgun I owned at the time.........Nowadays it's a King Cobra or a Makarov. :)

September 9, 2011, 12:34 AM

4" Colt Anconda in .44 mag...It carries pretty darn well in a good holster with a good belt. I recently carried it for about 4 days straight on a camping trip.

September 9, 2011, 03:39 AM
Desert eagle 50 but only once mostly a glock 27

September 9, 2011, 07:40 AM
Now and then for giggles, I'll hook on a 9" smooth-barreled .67 flintlock pistol loaded with a passel of .32 round-balls.

September 9, 2011, 08:05 AM
largest in the regular carry rotation would be a Sig P220 but on occasion I'll carry a full size 1911 or a 4 3/4" SAA or a 4" Redhawk.

September 9, 2011, 08:51 AM
Now and then for giggles, I'll hook on a 9" smooth-barreled .67 flintlock pistol loaded with a passel of .32 round-balls.

September 9, 2011, 09:55 AM
I used to dress around FS guns, but now a 3" SP101 is about as big (heavy) as I like to go.

September 9, 2011, 10:00 AM
4" 1911 Kimber Pro Carry. Conceals nicely with untucked shirt and is actually pretty comfortable.

September 9, 2011, 10:09 AM
I have my old duty S&W Model 58, which I regularly carried concealed in the 1980s, and Ruger GP100, nearly as large, and probably a bit heavier, that was my duty sixgun in the early 1990s, that I also carried concealed quite a bit. A 4" full-sized sixgun is not all that difficult to conceal. My Les Baer TRS was/is easy by comparison.

I have a Milt Sparks Summer Special II for a 5.5" SAA, for the day I am retired from policin', and may choose to occasionally tote a big Colt concealed on occasion. (My chief expects me to use only authorized weapons off the clock, to engage bad guys, and while I am allowed a quite large range of handguns during my off-the-clock hours, I am not
allowed to qual with an SA revolver.) While testing this rig at home, for about half a day, a 5.5" SAA proved quite comfortable IWB.

My biggest challenge to conceal? A Glock G22 proved the most difficult, as the rear of the slide printed against my cover garments, and the whole weapon was wide/thick. Revolvers are only wide at the cylinder, and where a Glock, and other striker-fired autos, have that wide, protruding rear of the slide, a revolver has nothing except a hammer, that is comparatively smaller and less protrusive, and can be bobbed-off if the revolver is DA. I only used a Glock as a duty pistol for 2.5 years, and rarely toted a Glock off the clock.

My SIG P229 pistols' slides are sloping and less-protrusive at the rear, and my three DAK models, which I use for duty and some
CC, have spur-less hammers.

September 9, 2011, 10:16 AM

That would be my Sig P220R/45 - center

Great, thin, light IMO, ccw gun for those special occasions that require both, dependability and accuracy with the widest spread.. ;)

September 9, 2011, 10:17 AM
CopBob, I've never heard of a BBQ gun, but I am jealous of a state that has a mindset that you have to have a dressed up gun to wear to a party (I'm assuming that's the point). Not that Ohio is that bad (and getting better) about ccw.

September 9, 2011, 11:49 AM
CZ P-07 Duty

I carry it at all times unless I'm at work, in the shower, or in the bed.

1851 brass navy colt replica 7 1/2 inch barrel. You should have seen the Mrs. eyes when I had to draw it from the boot one evening upon returning to the house and relizing the back door was open. (blew open) and I had to clear the house with it.

Elm Creek Smith
September 9, 2011, 07:58 PM
Four inch S&W Model 681 .357 Magnum.

In the olden days, I occasionally carried a six inch S&W Model 25-5 .45 ACP in a shoulder holster.

September 9, 2011, 08:19 PM
Taurus PT92 or Charles Daly 1911 both with old el paso IWB holsters, S&W model 57 with 8 3/8" barrel in shoulder rig when in the woods, and once around town to prove to my wife that she couldn't tell when I was carrying.

September 9, 2011, 09:18 PM
Currently its my 4" model 13 K frame. I rarely carry it though for no reason other than barrel length during the draw. In the market for a Glock 19 or 17.

September 9, 2011, 10:31 PM

September 9, 2011, 10:39 PM
Sometimes a S&W 25-13 Mountain Gun around the yard in winter. Otherwise a commander sized semiauto during cool weather when out and about.

Super Sneaky Steve
September 9, 2011, 10:49 PM
My 5" PT1911 fits nicely in my Crossbreed holster.

September 9, 2011, 10:55 PM
The largest would be a 4-inch, S&W model 28. It's just a bit larger in the grip than my otherwise identical 629 Mountain Revolver. I have carried both (at different times, not together) concealed with good effect but not every day as I have other better choices.

September 9, 2011, 11:33 PM

September 10, 2011, 12:26 PM

But I usually carry my 5" Colt:

September 10, 2011, 01:05 PM
"L" framed S&W revolvers, but only in the winter here in Florida. That lasts a couple of weeks, hopefully. Then it's back to "J" framed S&W revolvers.
If we had been granted the privilege of OC then "L" frames full time. For me nothing says "Stop doing that" like 44SPL.

September 10, 2011, 01:06 PM
A 5.5" .44 Mag in under my shirt and a 7+1 round 20" 12 gauge down my pants leg. I list 15 degrees to port and walk kind of funny, but if anybody messes with me, I'm covered.

September 10, 2011, 01:15 PM
S&W 910 (EDC) or occasionally Beretta 92FS to run to corner store. I think Im gonna taste the kool-aid and try a G19 out soon, hopefully.

September 10, 2011, 06:56 PM
largest is my Govt 1911 . Most time it a Defender or a 9mm PF-9 KelTec.

CZ SP-01 Phantom, High Noon Down Under holster, High Noon Rock Steady gunbelt, all under a loose t-shirt in AZ summer weather. Works like a charm. I did conceed to replacing the stock 18 round mag with the standard CZ75 16 round mag. ;)

September 10, 2011, 11:19 PM
In the past, a 1911 Govt size and a Glock 17.

Right now? A PF9. :D

However, one day soon when I have the cash I want to cc a GP100 4" iwb (with an LCR in the pocket for backup.)

September 10, 2011, 11:56 PM
My largest would be a Glock 21. With the right holster and clothing, its really not all that much harder to hide than my Glock 17 or 19.

Of course I'm on the large size, too, so that may make a difference! :p

September 11, 2011, 01:06 AM
full size 1911 in a belly band or uncle mike's IWB holster

September 11, 2011, 02:28 AM
Kahr PM9. Did I win?

September 11, 2011, 01:48 PM
I occasionally cary the Walther P99 AS 9mm. It's not gigantic by any stretch, but it's not exactly a compact, either. :)

September 11, 2011, 02:26 PM
S&W 629 8 3/8", most of the time it's a S&W 66 4", some time's a Colt cobra nickel.

September 11, 2011, 02:32 PM
S&W Model 500 ;-)
You could drive tacks with it at 25 yards.

September 11, 2011, 02:49 PM
What is the largest weapon you ccw?

Draco (AK pistol) in a 5.11 Select Carry Sling Pack.

September 11, 2011, 09:25 PM
Oh we can do that? OK, gotcha...:neener:

Yes, I really did carry this a few times, just to see what comments I might get.
Not a word...

Just an update to my other post but I CC'd that glock 34 all weekend in a fobus paddle holster under a longer polo style shirt with nary a problem.

Tapatalk post via IPhone.

September 12, 2011, 01:39 PM
You did say CCW, so for me it would be a Smith 638 body guard. Not my smallest or largest gun but it is the largest one I stick in my pocket.

September 14, 2011, 03:20 PM
I'll Mexican carry my CZ 75B frequently in the cooler months.

September 14, 2011, 03:41 PM
It used to be a 1911 Commander, but I now occasionally carry a Super Blackhawk .44 Magnum with a 4-3/4" barrel.

Usually carried in a "Tanker" shoulder holster, but occasionally OWB in 4 o'clock position. The short barrel makes it just a little bit longer than a 1911. And, of course, it doesn't have the 1911's flat profile.

Under a rain parka, it's concealed. More by accident than design, but it's still concealed...

September 14, 2011, 04:31 PM
This is.

September 15, 2011, 12:43 AM
I don't think I'll carry anything larger than a 1911 or thicker than a Glock.

September 17, 2011, 09:22 PM
SIG SAUER Scorpion 1911 during Winter.

September 18, 2011, 03:50 PM
The largest that I carry is a Stoeger Cougar 8000.

I dont like too large or too small. The smallest I carry is a glock 27.

To me the sweet spot is between the glock 26/27 up to the glock19/23 size. They really need to make more g23 sized guns. The big problem is the length of the grips.

Given the right clothes I can conceal an M9 ... But it better be cold out.

Usually an officer sized 1911 type is my carry, my PT911 is about the same size, so that works well, too, but when I can't wear an overshirt ... I am not concealing a gun ... Simply impossible with my build.

The largest gun that I will carry is a BERETTA 92D Centurion, but only during the winter when I dress heavier. During the summer, my most commonly carried guns are an H&K P2000 at work and a BERETTA Bobcat off duty.

I used to have to carry a BERETTA 96D Brigadier for work and off duty. You rately forgot that you were carrying it.
