A friend has a SW 657 he want to sell. What does it go for? He says he paid $650 back in 1986.

I'd say a 657 is worth $550 in today's dollars if it still has the factory wood grips.

$350 was about top dollar for a new 657 in 1986.

Today a 98% 6 inch or 8 3/8" 657 will go for about $500 - $650, a 4 inch $600 - $700.
If the factory wood targets stocks are missing deduct $100.

Retail price listed in the 1987 Gun Digest was $422.50. I believe the 657 was introduced in 1986.

The 657 was released in three, four and six inch barrel lengths in 1986. The Lew Horton special was manufactured in 1998.
