Bushmaster makes a 24" AR upper (http://bushmaster.com/shopping/uppers/post-ban/pura2b24.asp), and I think a couple other AR manufacturers do too. I dunno about non-AR rifles.

24" is the longest I've seen even in bolt guns and I don't think you're going to get any more velocity even if you find a 26". It's not an extremely large case capacity and at some point you're getting more drag from the barrel than push from the powder.

If you're talking .220 Swift 24" and 26" barrels seem to be the norm since they have a lot more capacity and use slower powders. So if you're looking for maximum velocity you might want to check differant calibers. .220 Swift and .223 WSSM both come to mind.

Rem 700 VS, PSS, and Win Mod 70 Stealth are all 26" barrels.

many bolt guns w/ heavy barrels will be 26". never seen one offered from a mfgr longer than that.
