One of the only shooting clubs in my area is the Fort White Gun Club. Membership is 35 bucks a year (mostly so they can have the firing range), but the Danish Garands are well worth it.

My personal advice is to find a local CMP-affiliated club, and a range that holds some matches. Then, when you get the thing, shoot in those matches as often as possible. They are fun, good at developing or improving form and every match I've ever shot has been attended by friendly interesting people.
Think about it. You get a cool old rifle, the chance to shoot it a lot, and the opportunity to hang out with people like you. How can it get any better!
