For more background,, here is a comparitive external ballistics analysis of the 5.56 NATO, 7.62 NATO, 6.8 SPC and 6.5 GRENDEL.
All 6.5 Grendel, 5.56 NATO and 6.8 SPC loads are magazine length for the AR15. The 7.62 NATO is provided for comparative purposes only since it wont function in the AR15 platform.

Oh I guess I will have to save up for an "overwatch " couple extra mags dies and brass = $1500. This should give me a real 600meter 10 shot "rule the roost rifle". Can I modify my hi cap mags, as a 10 rd AR makes me kinda :barf:

The only advice I can give you is
1. Use the factory 10 round magazine as a guideline seeing how the cartridge lays as far as angle, etc.
2. In my original development, .223 magazines with the straight or less curved profile work better then 7.62x39 magazines since the 6.5 Grendel does not have case taper of the 7.62x39. The worst ones are the USA 7.62x39 high capacity magazine where they put the magazine curve in to try and feed the 7.62x39 round. However, GI Alloy 5.56 mags without the curve work quite well.
Of course, your results depend on your ability to mimic the feed angle of the factory magazine and what magazines you use as a starting point and therefore no guarantee can be made to how your own custom tuned magazines will work.

One person already is heading down the road of chambering a Mini-30 in one. Should make for an ideal deer rifle which is what he wants it for.
