1934 vintage .38/44 Outdoorsman with a 6.5" barrel. Got it at a local auction Friday nite. Purty fair price and it ain't quite wore out yet.
Makes a pretty fair match with the little K-22 I did some hunkerin' for back a while ago.

Oh boy! Nothing like them old Smith's. Had a really nice 6½" Heavy Duty several years ago that got traded away. Kinda wish I had just kept it. Still waiting on a nice 4" to present itself.

So just how hot are you supposed to load .38's for it?

Here's a site that will give you a hint as to what a 38/44 will do.

They were the predecessor to the .357 magnum. That doesnt' mean you can shoot magnums in the old timers though.

Meh... it deserved a bump. ;)
Beautiful revolvers, both of 'em! And a great story on the .22. :D

13.5gr 2400 under a 173gr Keith bullet for 1250-1300fps is the classic .38-44 load.
