Parkerized finish

Purchased a well used 1911 with parkerized finish. Has a number of dings and scratches on it. What can I do to touch up the finish short of having it completely refinished.

Not much if it is the common greenish color GI parkerizing.

You might try a Birchwood-Casey Presto touch-up blue pen and see how it matches.
But that's about it.

41/40 blue from brownelles touches up park pretty good

Parkerizing is one of the cheaper finishes to have done. You could probably have it done for under a $100. Most of the "touch up" things never work very well, if at all, and often make things look worse. Ive never see one specifically for parkerizing that I remember.

Or, you can leave it alone and enjoy the "character" marks. :)

Get a good evaluation of the pistol first, before you mess with the finish. It might have more value as it is than you think. Or it might be a beater, who knows. Got any photos?
