Problem with stiff rimfire ejection

My Dad's double action Llama target pistol has had a problem with dumping it's empties since new. It's clean, and has no friction when loading unfired rounds, but after firing the brass can be a real BEAR to eject. To the point of having to tap the ejection rod with something in the worse cases. We have several rimfire revolvers, and this is the only one that exhibits the problem. It's very accurate, one ragged hole at 10-15y from the bench.

We usually shoot bulk pack ammo. The inside of cylinders look as polished as any of the other revolvers, but I don't have a way to measure them. I hesitate to do anything for fear of destroying a very accurate handgun.

Any idea's?

I have the same problem sometimes with my single six.

Rough chambers most likely.
A gunsmith could probably polish the chambers.

In the mean time, chuck a new bronze bore brush in a cordless drill, and using powder solvent, clean the crap out of them.

To the point of having to tap the ejection rod with something in the worse casesDon't do that!!
You stand a very good chance of bending the ejector rod, or springing the crane while pounding on it.

A better method is to poke out single cases one at a time with a pistol cleaning rod or something.
At least until it will eject the rest of them normally.

After you clean things up, as RC mentioned, get some Gun Butter, in a small bottle with the 2" needle on the end. Raise the eject rod to the top, as if dumping the mtys, put a drop or two ONLY on the rod, run the eject rod in and out several times, this will hopefully smooth things out. Possibly it just needs some lube in that spot, can't hurt anything!

I hava a taurus tracker that does the same. It has no issue with the federal 525rd blue box stuff, but cci blazer/mini-mag/std all fit tight. Winchester wildcat also did the same. Federal may just undersize their bulk by a hair. If you haven't yet, give that a try.

Happens with my S&W 617. I've experimented with different ammo and found some better some worse. Only Federal bulk ejects without problems.
My take was it's related to expansion of cases. Federal has either shell diameters smaller than the others, or thicker walls that resist expansion better.

I wind some #4 brass wool around a .25 caliber bronze brush with a good solvent on low speed then clean the crap outta the charge holes, oil when done but run a dry patch before shooting.
