I was just wondering if anyone has found a coin or other medallion to replace a Colt medallion with?

I looked into these once, I don't have experience with the company but it's a place to start.

Most of these are MFG's medallions but some are not.

At gun shows and even some gun retailers you will find "junk boxes" with old cast off, damaged or mis-matched stocks. I sometimes buy these if the are cheap enough (as they often are) to salvage the screws and medallions.

If you have real Colt grips, on a real Colt gun?

Changing the medalions to something else could knock several big ones off the collector or resale value of the gun.

I should have done a better job and explained that I usually use the salvaged medallions to repair or referbish older Colt stocks to use on Colt handguns that have non-factory grips. Do the same with S&W and Ruger also.
