I've been loading 9mm exclusively and having good success. Now I needed to start loading 45 acp for my new gun. This is the load I decided on ; 5.8grs of w231 over Berrys 185GR HBRN OAL 1.24x . I was very happy with how the first 10 rounds shot. I'm using 300 spent FED. Champion brass as they are spp , which saves me a little press set-up time. I've shot another 200 lpp rounds through it and have 800 more factory loads left.

Congratulations. It's very rewarding when you roll your own. I'm getting ready to do some .45s myself and will be trying a couple recipes for use in my 1911 and a couple Thompson "clones".

What are you shooting ? What's the listed velocity for those rounds ?

I have a S&W 1911sc E series 4.25" barrel (round butt) . I don't have a chronograph but a google search found a guy who measured that combo in the mid 800s fps

Good for you, keep up the good work...

BTW, how do you like the new E Series S&W 1911's?

It's my first 1911, but I'm thoroughly pleased. :D

BUILT BULLETS? I think not...
Sounds like you actually assembled ammunition, specifically .45acp "cartridges". Not the "bullets" themselves.

However, I DO "manufacture" my bullets, and then load into "cartridges".

Words do matter.....! Especially in court rooms......!

Well SEM, now that you've mastered making cartridges, you can start working on how to make bullets. Here's how I do it.
