Bellator Arms BA89. Anyone have one of these SP89 clones?

They appear to be very well made. But there's not much info out there about them.

Bellator Arms is another incarnation of TB's MP5 clones.

It's pretty much the same receiver/parts (quality) that the following companies (all related to TB) use:

Tactical Weapons Training Academy
Cohaire Arms
Cohaire Ordnance Factory
Omega Arms
Special Weapons
Acme Parts
BCH Manufacturing
Top Notch Accessories
Bobcat Weapons
Red Rock Arms

Some reports have the Bellator Arms BA-89 as a good SP89 clone, but not as good as the original H&K SP-89 or the Turkish MKE SP89 clone (ATI/MKE AT-94K).

Todd Is not Bobcat or Red Rock Arms just to be clear and does not own Bellator Arms however Black Market Parts owned by Todds sister is supplying some of the parts for the Bellator pistols .So while Bellator is not owned or operated by Todd some of his parts are used in the item much like most of the HK clones out on the market .

Wow.. will the bashing never end???

Seriously! Everyone makes me feel bad that I own a Special Weapons SW5. Then they mock me when I converted it to an SBR. At the end, they envy me when they get it in their hands and fire it, leaving a ragged 1" hole @ 50 yards. It always ends with "****! Can I run another mag through it?"

Regardless of who makes them, the quality of these clones have been improving over the years. The parts are getting better, the quality of the builds have been getting better, the GUNS have been getting better!

Lets face it. In the world of HK clones, it's hard to get away from Todd Bailey. His company MFGs most of the US parts, which are required for most builds! The parts are not getting worse, they're getting better!

ATI's sad representation of HKs are a detractor for most enthusiasts, since a lot of things cannot be swapped out (even the magazines). Most other HK clone builders that "suggest" they don't use parts from Todd Bailey... well, most all of them are out of business.

Bottom line is, if you've dreamed of an HK but can't drop $2500-$4000 for a german built gun, then your options are slim. I don't expect a clone of an SP89 to be better than the real HK. Similar, but not better. If you think you can find a clone that actually functions better than the original Hk, then either you are stupid, or you're paying a LOT more than $1000 for that clone!

Bellator Armaments is making it possible to own a well built gun for around $1000. Instead of reinventing the wheel, they chose to go with the best current builder and make their improvements. Cutting cost on bells/whistles instead of on the quality of the machine, as a whole.

I'm looking forward to getting one in my hands and giving it a run. I have access to a tungsten full auto carrier and a HK registered lower. Somewhere in my garage is 3,000 rounds of 9mm and a couple Beta-C mags. It's going to be a fun weekend! Now, I just need to hunt one down!
