I bought a Turk from SOG awhile back, I thought it was a shoddy repair job on the part of a Turkish gunsmith, but I think Buddry must have gotten hold of it. I thought the repairs to the handguard where from where a tank ran it over, musta been him and his artwork.

You couldn't give that gun to your kids, they'd cry.

I'm still trying to decided what to do with the other Turk, it was only $24, but I can't find a way to repair it so it looks presentable, looks like it is gonna need a new stock, just like that Yugo.

Is this a normal thing for that guy? If so does he sell that stuff? If he sells it, anyone know to who? Cause I am gonna drink a 1/5 of Jim Beam, get out the moto-tool, and build em a fancy one of a kind turkish mauser for $250. :D :D

Actually that would look kinda neat on an older gun.

Arrrrrrrrrrrr! Or as Chinese pirates say....alllllllllllllllllllllll!

Me thinks an engraved flintlock would go with an engraved banjo well. With the parrot and pegleg!

He keeps putting that abomination up on the auction sites....funny, no one appreciates the butcher job on a C&R gun.

Anyway, it's his rifle to destroy if he wants to. Doesn't mean I gotta buy it, tho.

Hmmmm, if it was cheap enough I'd buy it...and a synthethic stock! ;)

MY offer ? ? ?

Less that $0.02.....somebody buy that thang, and whomp him about the head and shoulders with it........maybe the stock would break, and a real one could be put on..... [Note: NOT advocating violence against another here, but really.........UGH!]

My Mosin-Nagant M-44 has some dents and dings in the stock, but puh-lease........pig-butt ugly is a term that comes to mind on that weapon.

Like Kahr carrier said " what was he smokin' ? ? "

I dunno, but send me a bushel of it, will ya?

the SKS could be put off to his being color blind, and if you ask me isn't as bad a job as some i've seen, (but not a $300 gun by any stretch)

the mauser on the other hand, that's grounds for breaking his hands!!! that was a crime. i could do better and i have pronounced fine motor skill deficency!! (i was the kid in class with a tape recorder b/c i couldn't take notes [write] well or fast enough)

Just to be nitpicky here...

Engraving goes on the METAL...

CARVING goes on the wood.

That Mauser looks like it got trapped in a room with a Hell's Angel who had a pocket knife and nothing else to do. :what:

I like the SKS comment "Unissued!" Only been fired 300 times!

Doesn't Unissued imply that the gun is new?

That Mauser looks like it got trapped in a room with a Hell's Angel who had a pocket knife and nothing else to do.

The Hell's Angel's I've met have better taste than that...I think it is more fitting for some old guy in a leisure suit, riding a Goldwing.:D

Good Luck in bidding on this ONE OF A KIND gun.

Well it's famous now!

I posted that link to a couple of mailing lists with a title of:

The REAL peril of supplying guns to the mentally defective!

...with no other warning.

Clayton "The Slayer Of Crooked Historians" Cramer saw it and BLOGGED it :D.

I know why he is selling that "one of a kind" keepsake...

...after the meth wore off he realized what he had done to a perfectly good rifle and concocted a desperate plan to unload that embarrassment.

...not too many takers, though. ;)

(The hack-job skeleton is an especially nice touch... ;) )

I'd love to see what he could do with a Sako... ;)

Jeez, I must have been the only one here who actually thought it was kinda nifty.

Imagine selling THAT at the Pirates of the Carribean souvenir shoppe!

Yep Jim, you been blog'd.

These are some true travesties perpetrated on firearms. I console myself to the fact that he's limited himself to low cost beater guns.

Still, something needs to be done about this guy before he actually gets his hands on something worthwhile and "Bubba-izes" it. In some states, courts would accept the defense of, "Your honor, he needed killin' for what he did to that gun."

BerettaNut92
January 28, 2003, 09:56 PM
You mean like taking my Sharpie and X-acto to my Beretta? :D

MarineTech
January 28, 2003, 10:06 PM
Skunk, you didn't "bubba-ize" it. You "skunked" it. There is a big difference in taste, I'm sure. Still, I reserve the right to make that determination based on any photographic evidence you have of the crime. :D :neener:

Opie Taylor did a better job on things when he got his wood burning kit than this guy.

I don't think anyone is suprised that no one bid on that abomination. I bet it would make some of the guys over at the milsurpshooter forums have a stroke! :D
