I'm not that young but I think my relative youth is showing here. My mom gave me a holster and get this -- it doesn't have any composite material or carbon fiber. I'm trying to figure out how one even wears this thing. It's made by Roy's Leather Goods and the model number is "711 LG Auto". I can sort of see this being worn by a right handed person in a cross draw configuration with something like a 1911. Any pointers on how to don this thing?

The LG Auto is "large auto"

You're correct - crossdraw for a righthander
Left arm goes through the loop above the holster, right arm through the larger loop. Attach to belt at the bottom of the holster.

Actually, reasonably comfortable. I've worn similar for 10-12 hours at a time, back in the day.

A little embarrassing asking for directions on how to dress myself! :)

Seriously though. Thanks. I put it on for kicks and that's enough. I'm glad I don't have to wear something like that!

On a side note, that holster looks to be from Roy Baker who invented the pancake holster. My grandfather worked for the AR highway department and has many a custom rig from him - here's a particularly cool piece he's passed down to me already:

Only problem is my 6'4" chassis is a little wider than his at 5'10". Makes for a fun conversational piece anyways!
