try different brands of ammo. Federal automatch locks up my S & W M-17 & 63 but the Federal Champion bulk ammo works just fine.

Yeah, my guess is it is the ammo you are using. What kind is it? I have shot thousands of rounds of 22lR out of my Six without any sticking cases, but I got a great bulk deal on some a few years ago.

I have had the same thing happen.

When I took a closer look, it wasn't that the case was sticking in the cylinder bore, it was that the firing pin hit so hard that it deformed the casing rim at the bottom of the .22. So the rim was bent outwards getting stick in the recessed part of the cylinder. I was using cci mini-mag at the point.

So I switched .22 to one that didn't have such a flared rim at the bottom and that helped a lot. But I suspect that if I had the springs changed lighter, that might help also. But it doesn't bother me much just to run another brand of ammo.

Had the same problem with my new 63 when using CCI Mini Mags. Switched to Federal 36 grain Bulk and haven't had a problem since. Nice because its clean, cheap ammo.
