I have a stevens 84c- mine has a monty carlo stock can anyone tell me more about this rifle the forearm and stock are checkerd and mine has no peep sight

Feed that into google and you will find all sorts of discussion. Apparrently it was made during the 1940-1948 timeframe (time out for WWII?) and originally came with three sights. Which suppose is an invitation to remove one?
