I picked "it varies" because it depends on what I'm wearing and what I'll be doing.

It can go from the NAA 22 Mag, to the LCP, to the 45 Kimber, and several more.

I don't dress for carry. I dress for comfort and carry what ever gun works.

Right now it's a toss between my Bersa Thunder 9 and the Ruger SR9 full size. Depending on where, what, how, when, etc. It will be Sig p238 for summer and shorts, then the Bersa for summer and dressed up and then the SR9 for winter wear.

Polls have always been a glitch in vBulletin. The new thread is submitted while the question and answers are being filled in by the OP, which is why the thread appears before the poll.

So, next time you think someone tried and failed at a poll, be patient. Otherwise you and your FAIL .gif are gonna look pretty stupid once the poll is up.

I don't carry every day, however when I do it's usually my G22. Being 6 ft. and a very slim 260 lbs. I don't have a hard time concealing my G22 most of the year. When it's really warm out in the summer or I really need good deep concealment, I'll carry my G27. I shoot then both very well and have never had any trouble with either. Once in a while I'll carry my SW1911. It's been flawless too.

TexasRifleman
October 4, 2011, 09:25 AM

How about you lighten up, get over yourself, and realize teasing/humor works both ways?

And no, I don't check my hair every time I walk by a window - I do use the reflection to make sure my pants are zipped though...

Back on topic, I carry a 5" 1911. Also have a Kahr P9 for when the 1911 doesn't conceal itself easily.

Carry a 642 in warmer weather, carries almost too well in that I can actually forget that it is there sometimes. Once the heavier shirts come out in the fall I switch to a G27 or sometimes even a G23. And I always have my 870 loaded with buckshot and slugs within an arms reach. But hey, I work in an area thick with bears, hogs, and crazy two legged animals.

It was a Taurus Slim but I had to downsize to an MPA Protector after busting zippers on two fanny packs in less than two years.

I'd rather have the 9mm but given my size, my job, and my preferred clothing I just can't conceal it anywhere other than a fanny pack.

I carry a Glock 23. I purchased an early LC-9 for a carry gun and wish I could have talked with someone who had one. Everything I read sounded fantastic but I definitely wouldn't want to get caught in a situation where I had to defend myself beyond point blank range. The trigger pull and reset isn't pleasant, and shooting a box of shells through one at the range would be deemed cruel and unusual punishment. It's a fantastic point blank piece, but it's hard to stage a real life self defense scenario.

doc2rn
October 6, 2011, 04:50 AM
Depends on what I shot best with that week at the range or if I am medically forced to go recoil sensitive. My preferred carry is either a Colt Diamondback or my FNP-9, but occassionally I am forced medically to go back to my Jframe S&W 451 pre lock.

Pretty much in the Other category.

I carry a Springfield XDm 10 months out of the year. I think you covered most of the major revolver companies, but there are a lot more commonly carried semi-autos, both in make and in body style (double vs. single-stack, service vs. compact vs. sub-compact, etc).

Skribs, how do you carry that thing?

I just acquired an XDm and I'll have a tough time carrying it even in winter with a Parka on.

Yes, it is a .45, which means it's huge, but even if you're carrying an XDm 9mm, that's still a large gun with a long grip.

I'm 6'3" 235 and still can't imagine concealing this thing very well.

I'm a small guy, 5'7" and 150 lbs. I conceal a commander size all steel 1911 every day. The secret is a proper gun belt, clothes that fit right and a good holster. Larger people do have a bit more problem concealing from what I hear. I also hear a crossbreed supertuck or an OWB is awesome for that.

Like said by others previously, it depends on the weather, clothing, and activity...

Being a LEO, my primary daily carry is my duty-issued 9mm Sig P226R, which is much too bulky for me to carry concealed on my body frame.

My primary off-duty carry is a .40 Glock 27, but I also carry a 2 1/4" .357 Ruger SP101 or a hammerless 2" .38 Taurus 85 depending on circumstances.

Usually it's a K-frame revolver OWB; sometimes a Smith and sometimes a Ruger (same holster works for both.) I have a P3AT for when I need something smaller, but I don't really like it because it's too nasty to practice with -- and I need the practice.

I need to get something where I can carry a full sized handgun on the rare occasions I have to wear a tucked-in shirt and might need to remove my jacket. I saw some "tuckable" IWB holsters on eBay that look interesting. http://www.ebay.com/itm/360327874506
