I prefer a gun for my armed encounters, but I carry a knife in addition. It can, of course, serve a multitude of other functions as well. I started carrying long ago when a reserve deputy sheriff. I carried a Buck Lock Blade in a hip pocket for cutting seat belts at TA cites.

Today I carry a Buck Solitaire, so I have not moved very far. The Solitaire serves me well, but today I was rearranging the equipment on the bat-belt and in the pockets, and I realized that I should have the solitaire in the LEFT hip pocket so that it can be drawn while the right hand is engaged in a close-up encounter. I cannot see how to "one-hand" open and close the solitaire left handed.

So....I need something similiar in size, cost, etc. that is specifically lefty, or better yet, ambi. I would value your expertise in this area to refine the search process so that I can make a decision and acquire the knife. Also, info on the best place to acquire same over the internet or by phone via cc would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks Omega_7 and Schuey2002. Your posts are are most helpful. I handled and bought a Kershaw Scallop yesterday as an interim solution, but I am still looking for the "ultimate". I really like the little Onion knife, but I will carry it for a few days and then re-evaluate. Thanks again.
