I understand where you're coming from, but not everybody has one of each to photograph and scan in. You'd probably do better to visit a gunstore...

Try googling the search phrase "cartridiges of the world".

Something should come up.

I've got everything except the .17, so I can't help, unfortunately.

OK. I don't have a .30-30 rifle but I do have an empty case for my cartridge collection.

WOWOWOW I never realized the 30-30 was so big! I always thought it was closer to 30 cal m1 than 308 win!!! Would a lever action in 30 30 be accurate to say 250-300 yds???

Hello. In answer to the original post, someone earlier pointed to my program but I just thought I'd elaborate, because it is exactly what you want, and it's FREE.

When the application starts up (the first time can take a bit longer), click on "Draw" - you can put any 8 cartridges side-by-side, all drawn to the same scale. The window is size-adjustable so you can stack the .17 HMR right beside the .50 BMG (although I'm not sure why you would want to :)).

With AmmoGuide, you don't need a magazine article to show you pictures. :)

Also included: info and tech drawings for over 250 cartridges, with nearly 200 with histories/descriptions. AmmoGuide has been a 15 year labor of love (started as an Amiga program in the late 80's), now online with tools that allow AmmoGuide visitors to enter their favorite cartridges, if it's not there already.

I'll soon be taking reloading web sites to the next level when I open AmmoGuide Interactive for membership (hopefully first week in Feb 04). There is a demo account available now, however...
