I have a P229 in .40 which is a fabulous pistol and BEST I have ever tried in .40. I know I can put a .357 SIG factory barrel in it to use it for .357 SIG. For those that have tried both .40 and .357 SIG in a P229 how does the recoil compare?? I find my P229 shooting .40 feels like most other pistols shooting 9MM. Much difference between recoil in the .40 and .357 SIG?? I hear the the .357 SIG has a pretty loud blast compared to the .40.

I personally feel the .357 sig has less recoil then the .40, so YMMV.

I have a Glock 32 and it does not snap as hard as my G22c. The recoil is by no means a problem. It's quite a bit snappier than the equivalent 9mm but it's a great round. My favorite caliber.

My favorite 229 is the 9mm, but between the .40 or the 357SIG in controlability, I'd choose the 357Sig. Not only is it faster between shots, I have found it more accurate also.
The blast of a 357Sig is louder, but the recoil/muzzle flip is less
