Looking for a new 1911. Finally found a local FFL with reasonable fees. Prefer someplace outside of CA (no sales tax).
Thanks

By far and away the best Kimber prices I have found are at Sporting Arms (www.sportingarms.com).
As an example: Kimber Tactical Custom 5"
Local Dealer: $879 + $67.68(Tax) = $946.68
Sporting Arms: $839 + $20(shipping) + $15(FFL) = $874
And my local guys prices are pretty good, saw the same Tactical Custom for $939 and $979 in the Olympia, WA area.
Check them out, you'll have to request a quote.
Steve
P.S. I've got their price on quite a few guns, PM me or post what you are looking for and maybe I've already got the price.

dnrsports quoted me $840 -- seems higher than you quote. Was that an actual quote?

I wonder if the $809 was for just the TLE, not the TLE/RL?

TLE RL is supposed to be about $80 to $100 more than the TLE.

that price doesn't sound too far off

Here are four that are NIB that were from $795-829 and I don't think anything of them sold at those prices.

yeah -- I've been watching the one at $839. But I think I will look around a bit more. I have time -- due to California's 30-day rule.

Well, if you're in a hurry, sportingarms.com has them for $819 + $20 shipping. Great people too. You could probably wait around and shop for a couple of weeks and maybe save $20 off of that.
Seems like alot of gun for the money. I'm considering selling my Tactical and getting a TLE or TLE/RL.

Well, I have elected to get a Sig 228 this month -- next month I will be trading my Sig Pro for a CZ P-01 -- so it will be 60 days before I can get the Kimber.
Bah, damned 1 gun every 30 day rule sucks.

I agree -- for the low $800's -- to get a Kimber 1911 with mepros, rails and other nice details. That's a winner in my book.
I wish it came with 8rd mags though -- according to the Kimber website it has 7 rounders.

It's only going to come with one magazine anyway. Wait and catch one of the Metalform magazine group buys and get some good quality 8 rounders for around $10 per.

My local FFL like Bachman Pawn and Gun in texas, he claims they have the lowest price for non volume FFL, he also uses williams in illinois, you will have to have your ffl call them for a quote, as they dont do retail (williams anyway).
Bachman does not have a working website.
Bachman Pawn & Gun 2926 Norwest Highway Dallas, TX 75220 Phone: 214-351-3628, Nice honest folks good to deal with.
