I just purchased a Ruger LCR to replace an Armscor .38 snubby as my Fall/Winter ccw. I took it to the range this weekend and put 250 rounds through it, and, so far, I'm pretty pleased with the gun.

The trigger is on the heavy side, but smooth and I found it easy to adjust to. One of the biggest problems I have with any double action gun is getting consistent groups when shooting quickly. The trigger on this gun seems to make it a lot easier for me.

Also, for the light weight, it wasn't too punishing to shoot, even with +p ammo. Compared to a Smith 642 (a gun I have a lot of respect for) the LCR was A LOT more comfortable to shoot with the +p rounds. Others experience may vary, but after about 50 rounds with your typical Airweight my hands are ready to do something else, not so with the LCR.

I'll say one thing though, it isn't much in the looks dept., but in terms of being able to put rounds downrange quickly and accurately, I'd say Ruger has a winner in this little revolver.

Great! That is gonna be my next gun purchase. Hopefully we never have to put 50 rounds through any snubby for defense!!

If I take my time, I can shoot my LCR as accurately as my Glock 17 at 15 yards. It's a remarkable little handgun. After a few hundred rounds, my trigger pull has slicked out to a very smooth 9 pounds.

I liked the one I had. Only owned it for about half an hour. Then my wife 'confiscated' it for HER carry gun! (It replaced a Taurus M85 lightweight.) She loves the thing! We've shot it quite a bit. Seems to be a great little gun.

I agree its a lot easier to shoot and be accurate with than any other snub I shot before. As for looks, who cares? Hopefully no one will ever see it anyway.

The longer trigger reach on the LCR along with the trigger/trigger guard shape make this gun gobbs easier for me to shoot accurately compared to my boot-gripped J frames. When the J has uncle Mike's combat grips, I'm almost as accurate. But of course I can't pocket carry those grips.
