Out of the pre- B CZ-75 and the Star model 30M which one would y'all say is more durable and accurate? I know, its too different questions. Also, has anyone had any first hand experience with the both? If you have which one did you like more and why?

I never shot a pre B model 75 but have the 75B. I also have the Star 30M. The 30M is one of the best pistols Star made and some have gone 100,000 rounds without a failure. It is also easier to take apart than the CZ. The Star comes apart in modules and can be disassembled with only the slide stop. It was also designed to be repaired in the field and has no screws.

As far as accuracy I would say my CZ is slightly more accurate. Both pistols are also easy to shoot. The 30M however does tend to get filthy under the extractor when shooting. The 30M also has an odd extractor design (No pin holding it in. Its held in by the extractor spring pressure) that requires disassembly of the firing pin retaining plate and safety to get the extractor out. This can also be done with just the slide stop and firing pin as tools.

I never shot a pre B model 75 but have the 75B.

The differences between a Pre-B and a B are mostly superficial. Pre-Bs have a spur hammer, different factory grips, and the trigger guard is a different shape. The trigger feels a little different because of the firing pin block (or lack of one in the Pre-B), but in terms of overall shootability they're about the same. Only real reason to get one over the other is if you like the look better.

If the price is right, buy both. I am not sure about the Star, but pre B parts are becoming difficult to find.

I heard the Star parts are pretty hard to come by now, too. :(

I often hear people stated Pre-B trigger is so much better than 75B. After I shot them side by side, I honest can't tell if there is one better than another. The difference just not as noticeable as a 75B compare to a 75SA.

I own both 75SA (which I think has the best factory trigger amount 75B/BD/SP01/85), and Star 30MI (which identical as 30M).

They both are good shooters. I actually like my 30MI more so than my CZ75 SA. But parts availability will be an issue if anything break down.

I know nothing about the CZ but had a Star Model 30MI for a long time and it is one fantastic gun. Accurate, built like a tank, and takes down in seconds. The recoil spring is in a keeper so you don't need to compress it when re-assembling and, as someone's already mentioned, you can completely tear it down without tools. Before anyone says that mags aren't available, know that Ramline's 17 round S&W 5900 series mags work in it. It's haevy so it's no carry gun but that weight makes for very little felt recoil. It'd be a great range/house/car/shop gun.

I have had both and prefer the feel and ergonomics of the CZ-75 over the Star Model 30. They're both great pistols but as others have stated, a concern over availability of spare parts eventually led me to trade the Star for another 9mm.

You gotta shoot'em both to decide. I did, and would pick the 30M. Less felt recoil and muzzle flip, with triggers being quite similar. I have a passionate feeling towards the 30M since I consider it to be the best autoloader built in Spain and it's a reliable, fine, accurate handgun.

I'll be getting one soon :D. Pics promised.
