I'm at range now. I'm shooting 158gr LRN through my s&w model 10. I had one casing the seemed a bit too long and got a little flat spot on case head. First time seeing this. Anybody else experience this?

Thanks

No, but it must have been OK the first time or you couldn't have reloaded it.

And I'm not exactly sure what a "flat spot on the head" is?

Could it have been a flattened primer?

I think he means it sheared on the back of the chamber.

RC

it was Remington Factory ammo. I meant the rim wasn't perfectly round anymore. I'm guessing the rachet on the cylinder put the flat spot on it???

Btw I got another dillon 550b last night for small primers. What a difference between a new machine and my first old use one I bought last year.

I'm guessing it was made that way.

Nothing that goes on inside a revolver can trim or ding a flat spot on the edge of a rim.

Yeah, I think you're right. I tried another spent casing and the cylinder rotated freely.
