Leupold fixed 4X on a newer Ranch Rifle, and Leupold Scout Scope on an older one. Those two scopes suit the rifles within their limitations. Both have been 100% reliable in all respects. I also set up both with the Mini-Scout rail scope mounting system, and got much better accuracy. 200 yard zero for both.

Nikon 1-4x20 m-223 bdc 600. I like the BDC feature, i shoot 68grn Hornadys so being able to go to the nikons spot on java app thing is nice. Its been pretty close out to 400 yds or so (far as i was shooting rocks). Only knock is its not a true 1 power. Dosent realy matter to me as i normally shoot much higher powered scopes with both eyes open.

I wouldn't go higher than a nice 4x scope for a mini. It's all you'll ever need.

for coyotes and hogs, I got a 2x7x33 Redfield on one of my minis and is about as much as you will need.

I found that a Weaver K4 was plenty good. Never had occasion to reach out beyond 100 for coyotes, but I did in a bunch of jackrabbits between 50 and 200.

What are you doing with the rifle?

For stuff under 100-150 yards a red dot is silly cheap and super fast. (Primary Arms makes good ones for under $100)

Other than that a decent 1-4 variable is a pretty good choice. I wouldn't go higher than 4x.

If you are partial to the scout set up I find the 2.5 leupy scout scope to be perfect on it.

My Mini-14 "shotgun" doesn't deserve a nice scope, but it has an inexpensive 2.5X8 on it.
Accuracy SUCKS after about 7000 rounds thru it.
