Howdy all,

I have a Bond Arms Cowboy Defender in 45/410 and I'm considering selling the barrel and ammo that I have to buy a .44 Special barrel. Why? I carry a .44 as my out of doors gun (and occasional CCW) and this would let me carry the Bond Arms as a same caliber back up.

My questions are:
1. Is there much difference between the two (.45 LC and .44 Spc) in shot barrel performance?
2. What about recoil?

I've searched and I can only find info comparing the .45 LC and varies 10 loads but nothing vs. .44 Spc.

Thanks!

Going to be very similar performance in both cartridges, excluding 45 colt +p.

Something like 750 -800 fps in the Bond barrel for both cartridges with a 240g bullet.

Well, the 44 Special is obviously more powerful than the 45 LC, because the latter cartridge does not exist. Perhaps you meant the 45 Colt.

Thanks.

I assumed they'd be pretty close.
