Please Pray

This is regarding my 7 year old nephew Johnathan K. He was admitted two days ago when a large mass was found during an ultrasound at a prompt care clinic. He has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer of the liver and lungs. He was in surgery today to remove what they could, but the tumor is "wrapped around his liver and into his lungs" per my wifes report. They believe at this time that the cancer is a type that does not respond well to chemotherapy. We are asking everyone to pray for him. He is an exceptional young man and very dear to anyone who has met him. He loves the outdoors and goes shooting with myself and his dad every chance he gets. If you are a member of a church, please put him on your prayer list. We are asking everyone to pray for him. Thanks.

I personally believe in a higher power and I have sent my best wishes and prayers.
Even if one is an athiest it simply couldn't hurt to ask for help for both Kaylee's mom and this poor boy. Heck even if you don't believe in a higher power we could all use a little faith sent our way from time to time.
Whether you have faith or not sometimes it doesn't hurt to ask for help for yourself or others.
In short, prayers sent. Godspeed and good luck.

If it helps, I just visited with a young man (age 3) last night at work. I had the privilege of caring for this special guy a few months ago. The best doctors I've ever worked with said time and time again that he would not make it. They are very wise, and very knowledgable, and I consider it an honor to be working with them...but they aren't always right. I've taken care of several other children who had the same affliction, but they didn't make it. But this boy's family was always right there with him, praying over him, singing to him. I believe that was the difference. I don't know if it's God, karma, or just some positive energy vibe, but it does make a difference. But like I told the mother last night, as he sat in my lap playing with my stethoscope ,"WE didn't save this child, and who or whatever did has plans for him down the road." So everyone send whatever positive thought you can to Johnathan, he has a long fight ahead of him, let's all hope he makes it.

On the way...
Agree with Okie, I used to be in the medical setting, myself...my ex was a pediatric Ns in a Children's Hospital...don't matter what one does or does not ascribe to...seen /been around miracles. That is why a lot of kids are so fond of angels when they wake up or make it through a serious situation. Kids...especially Kids make the adults stop and think about what is important.

This has really not been a good week, for this sort of thing. Monday, a 12 yr old was ran over by his fathers snowmobile. Father was backing down off the trailer and thought the kid had moved. Fortunately, the little tiger never regained consciousness. My wife worked ER that day.
Just saw the blackhawk thread.
Now this.
Of course my prayers will be sent.

First and foremost, Thank you for your prayers, keep them coming. Johnathan made it through surgery and they removed what they could of the tumor. He is now looking at beginning chemotherapy to try and remove the cancer from his lungs and shrink the tumor in his liver. If this can be done, then they can have some treatment options.
1. They can remove part of his liver where the cancer is and hope that the remainder will regenerate and be cancer free.
2. Look for a living donor to donate part of their liver. (He is B+), but I'm sure that the family will have a donor for him.
He was told he has cancer and took it well and is being a real tough guy. For a 7 year old he understands what is going on and that his biggest concerns was not the needles, pain, being sick, dying, but losing his hair according to my wife.
Thank each and everyone of you for praying for Johnathan. I know he has a tough road ahead of him, but considering when I first typed this request to everyone, he had no road ahead of him, and their is a chance he can recover. As I mentioned he is an outdoor nut like his uncles and dad and in fact is the only other person to have every shot one of my muzzle loaders (it was almost 2x his height at the time!), had to brace it off of my leg for him to shoot, but he loved it, AND he helped me clean the thing (though he didn't like the sulfur smell :) ) Thank you to the moderators for allowing me to post this. It is kinda gun related since he loves the outdoors, but I still appreciate the liberties being provided.

OMG ..... Johnathan ....... just 7 ....... that is so cruel.
I always admit to not being a praying man .. refuse to be a hypocrite ..... but I do believe strongly in the power of positive thought ... and that much I can do willingly.

Well, i am a Praying man, and believe in GOD and what his word says. If i may share a scripture: (John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. )
If you believe beyond a shadow of a doubt GOD can heal Jonathan, then it will be done. Just dig deep in your heart, and if you believe what his word says, and believe that GOD is the great Physician, then it will be done, and we will see the Hand of GOD at work. And we will see Jonathan healed. This is what i am praying, this is what i'm believing in.

MORE healing angels inbound.
My goodness, with my requested angels being sent to Blackhawk, Legionnaire' uncle, and now here, I'm going to get quite the bill!! A bill I'll gladly pay.
And while all of these events may bear our sadness, hope, and prayers, may we all take a moment to pause and realize all the good that has already come out of these unfortunate events. It has brought many of us here at THR that much closer, and made THR the family that it truly is.
