There's not much loading data out there for short barrell revolvers. What would be a good powder choice for 158 grain cast bullet loads for practice, and 125 to 140 grain jacketed bullet loads for serious work ? Thanks biker

Just call up on their 800 numbers and the ammo maker will be glad to send you the loading info.

hdbiker - This really belongs in the reloading section.

We generally will answer your question by reminding everyone that reloading manuals are NOT optional.

Please remember, the internet forums are visited by every crackpot & scholar alike.
AND YOU CAN"T TELL THE DIFFERENCE OVER THE INTERNET!
(sorry, I'm done hollering)

If you need that type of info, the ONLY reliable places to get it is from:
1. A Reloading Manual - they also include outstanding "How-To & Why" sections
2. Powder Manufacturers - they have free data on their websites
3. Bullet Manufacturers - only available in book form.

By the way, the only difference I've found in short barrels is a few feet per second slower.
Data from any of the above will suffice.
