Hi folks,

I started this thread over at ar15.com and while I see some overlap in the people that post here and there, thought it might be good to get the word out to a larger audience. Power in numbers and all that ; )

Here's the original message I posted at arfcom:

-----------------------------------

I just completed an online request at samsclub.com to see if they would consider stocking ammo by the case at their Sam's Club stores.

Anyone else do this?

Also, could anyone else do this? If they get enough requests perhaps they would consider selling ammo the way they sell tobacco products (caged but visible, or by taking a ticket and having them get it for you) or something like that.

I keep walking through the stores by my house thinking how great it would be if they sold ammo in popular calibers...

-----------------------------------

Since then (Wednesday if I recall correctly) I got a response from a customer service type who said they forwarded the request to the appropriate buyer. Others have received the same message.

So, what the hey. I'm posting here so we could possibly get a lot more requests in.

I saw some .22s there a few years ago. It wasn't a regular item, but the store that I went to had them for a few months. I can't remember the price offhand but it didn't seem to be that great of a savings or I would have bought some at the time.

I put in a request.

By the way, their idiot web form won't accept APOSTROPHES! It called them "Invalid characters."

Hmmm. Hard to spell "Sam's," "won't" or "didn't" without them!

Someone's server-side script needs to learn how to process apostrophes for DB insertion. A quick regular expression replace command really isn't that tough.

Never seen ammo at my local Sam's, but I'd love it if they'd stock it at a reasonable price.

Working on finding their e-mail address. Maybe someone could post a link?

Here's the form:

http://www.samsclub.com/eclub/main_help.jsp?stg=STG1&mt=a&n=0&BV_SessionID=_SC_0075356478.1075576777_CS_&BV_EngineID=cccladckihiiiiecfkfcfkjdgoodfkh.0

If that link doesn't work go to www.samsclub.com and scroll down to the very bottom to click on "Contact SAM'S CLUB".

Isn't Sam's Club just all part of WalMart??

I guess if bulk buying could be promulgated then perhaps some savings to be had ...... but while Wally World still does the White Box etc ... tend to wonder whether there'd a great advantage.

I can't count how many times I've went to Wal-Mart to pick up some value packs and they were out. That might be all part of their plan though because I can never leave the ammo counter empty handed, so I always end up picking up some other caliber that I might already have too much of. :D

I bought some of their starlight cases for 116 bucks of their website and the form was giving me all kinds of trouble. You think a company that big would have a decent website, of course the site was probally built and is maintained in china/india.
