Need advice on a BUG holster

I've recently been debating whether or not I want to add a BUG to my regular carry routine. I routinely carry a G23 @ 3:30, so that area is out. The BUG I will be carrying is going to be a G27. Ankle carry is out, I've tried it, too uncomfortable. I've also considered pocket carry, but I already carry enough crap as it is (Everything in my pockets is crucial to my day to day life, so I don't really have pocket room), therefore pocket carry is out, for now. I've narrowed it down to 2 possible options:

1) Opposite side @ 8:30 in a left-handed IWB holster of the same kind I carry my primary CCW in. The only problem with this method, is that I don't know how much strain it's going to put on my waist, as I already have a big blocky gun @ 3:30. I don't want to have to buy a whole bunch of other pants.

2) Belly band or kangaroo carry rig under my shirt. This seems to be the most viable option, but I don't hear many people carrying kangaroo-style.

Which carry method do you guys suggest?

Well, you've eliminated most of the carry locations I would suggest. Off-side pocket carry is quite do-able, but maybe not with a G27. I wouldn't know, I've never tried. A KT P32, or a S&W 642, or something between them in size and shape, is very doable. Different pants, different pocket layout, different locations for things you currently carry in your pants pockets.

Perhaps a Thunderware/Smartcarry would work for you. This is, essentially, a very low belly band. Perhaps a shoulder rig under your shirt.

What rig did you try for your ankle? It can make a huge difference.

It's a Blackhawk holster that I think is designed to wear with boots. Do you have any good ankle holster recommendations for a G27?

Renegade Cozy Partner, model 51 or 53 should fit your G27. (http://www.renegadeholstersdirect.com/page2.html)

Some options: Galco Lite shoulder holster worn under a fast-access shirt. Small belt pouch or fanny pack with Velcro belt loop, worn on left front between the pocket and belt buckle (11:00). Cross-body sling bag, see http://stores.ebay.com/Skull-Canyon-Gear-Store?_rdc=1 for several versions. I like, and carry, the cross-body bag (2 different versions for my 2 carry guns).

For a BUG, I like a shoulder holster, as I also carry @ 3:30 too. A GLOCK 27 Weak hand draw at 8:30 would work well too if you have a very robust belt, and good holsters. Another Option is a pocket holster for a cargo pocket.

My choice would be a smaller, thinner gun in the pocket. I experimented with carrying my Kahr PM9 this way in a BUG capacity and other than slight extra weight, didn't find it uncomfortable. Since nothing but the gun should be in your pocket, some things (wallets, cell phones, flashlights, pocket knives, keys) that you normally put in your pockets are better off in belt pouches or additional pockets, e.g, cargo pants, which is what I did.

But, having said all that, there is much to recommend an identically operating gun, taking the same ammo and (in a pinch) magazines, too. :) I think, if I were to do this, I would put it in a IWB holster on the other side, with a butt-forward carry to make it accessible to either hand (reach across with your right hand for a crossdraw, "cavalry draw" for your left hand). Search member armoredman's posts for some pictures.

I am really entertaining the IWB weakhand draw at 8:30 idea, but the amount of space taken away from my waist just seems so uncomfortable and tight; I would have to buy a whole set of new pants one size bigger just to accomodate it.

Pocket carry is off, as I simply can't afford to buy another pistol right now. Another holster, maybe, but not another pistol...And I'm not willing to sell my G27 just to get a smaller gun.

Clint Smith had an article in American Handgunner a few months back talking about holsters. He pocket carries an N-Frame S&W in a pocket holster! Yikes.
