I've got a Ruger m77 MK II, and the stock is pretty beat up. I've never re finished a stock before, so I am definitely clueless. I was curious what type of sand paper to use, what finish, etc. And also I don't want to sand off factory checkering, due to the fact that I can't rechecker. Is it possible to just do the rest of the stock excluding the checkering? and also, Does anybody know how to remover the factory grip cap? Is it glued on? I don't see any screws or anything. Thanks for the help every body.
